GRADING GUIDELINES
1. Rules Applying to Every Grade
- Grade the item at the agreed handover point. Unless otherwise agreed, the stated condition must be true when the item is made available for collection or dispatch.
- Disclose exceptions. A known material defect, missing part, lock, crack, screen issue, battery issue or testing limitation must be stated even if a grade is given.
- No hidden mixed lots. A grade applies to each unit unless the listing clearly states the percentages of a mixed lot and any permitted quantity tolerance.
- Functional means tested. "Functional" means the listed core functions have been tested using a commercially reasonable test appropriate for that device. State any untested function.
- Accessories are not assumed. Include chargers, adapters, stands, rails, caddies, trays, cables, licences, consumables and manuals only where the listing or table below expressly says so.
- Passwords and management locks matter. BIOS, firmware, MDM, activation, account or other non-removable locks are prohibited in Grades A and B and must be disclosed in Grades C and D.
- Data sanitation is separate. The Seller must remove personal and confidential data using the agreed standard. A grade does not certify secure data erasure.
- Packaging and transport are separate. Grade describes the equipment, not the packaging. Packing method, palletisation and transit-risk allocation must be agreed separately.
- Specific terms prevail. A specific, clear disclosure in the listing or sales contract prevails over the general guideline for that disclosed feature.
2. General Grade Definitions

"New", "unused", "factory sealed" and "refurbished" are product-status descriptions, not grades. If used, they must be stated separately and accurately.
3. Category-Specific Requirements
3.1 Desktop PCs and Workstations

3.2 Laptops

3.3 Monitors and Displays

| C | Non-functional or only partly functional but repairable; cracked casing, missing stand or power supply, damaged input, severe image defect or cracked panel must be disclosed. |
| D | Non-functional, unsafe, uneconomical to repair or for parts/recycling only; broken panels and handling hazards disclosed. |
3.4 Servers and Storage Systems

| B | Core system functional; visible wear or non-critical warning permitted if disclosed; optional components, caddies, rails, bezels or redundant power supply may be absent if listed clearly. |
| C | Repair required or incomplete; failed component, missing CPU/RAM/storage/controller/power supply/caddy, management lock or diagnostic error itemised; not represented as production-ready. |
| D | Non-functional or incomplete system for parts or lawful recycling only; storage-media presence and data-erasure status stated. |
3.5 Mobile Phones and Tablets

| B | Fully functional; visible scratches, scuffs, small dents, light burn-in or battery health below 80% permitted if disclosed; no cracked display that creates a safety or usability issue; no non-removable activation or management lock. |
| C | Partly functional or repairable; cracked glass, damaged housing, failed camera/port/button, weak or missing battery, display defect or lock status disclosed; network or IMEI restrictions disclosed where known. |
| D | Non-functional, unsafe, blocked, beyond economical repair or for parts/recycling only; swollen or damaged batteries must be isolated and shipped only in compliance with applicable dangerous-goods rules. |
3.6 Printers and Multifunction Devices

| B | Core print/copy function works; cosmetic wear, label residue, noisy operation, worn rollers or non-critical output marks permitted if disclosed; optional trays, duplexer, finisher, toner/ink or other accessories may be missing if stated; page count stated where accessible. |
| C | Repair or servicing required; jams, error codes, defective print quality, failed scanner/duplex/network function, missing trays/parts or exhausted maintenance items itemised; not represented as ready for production use. |
| D | Non-functional, incomplete, beyond economical repair or for parts/recycling only; toner, ink, batteries or other regulated consumables handled and described appropriately. |
4. Product-Status Descriptions
| Status | Required meaning |
|---|---|
| New / Unused | Never put into operational use. Original packaging, seal condition, manufacturing date and warranty status must be stated separately; "new" does not automatically mean factory sealed or covered by a transferable manufacturer warranty. |
| Factory Sealed | Original manufacturer seal is intact and there is no reason to believe the contents were substituted. Packaging damage or old stock must be disclosed. |
| Refurbished | Previously used or returned equipment that has been inspected, cleaned, tested and, where needed, repaired. The refurbisher, work performed, warranty and cosmetic grade must be stated where material. |
| Open Box | Packaging has been opened; use history and completeness are stated. It must not be described as factory sealed. |
| Mixed Lot | The listing states each grade/status percentage, permitted tolerance, sampling method if any, and how exceptions are allocated. |
5. Mandatory Listing Checklist
For graded equipment, the Seller should provide:
- exact model and material specification;
- quantity and whether grading applies per unit or by disclosed lot percentage;
- grade plus all exceptions;
- test scope and test date;
- battery-health method and results where relevant;
- page count, print count or usage counter where relevant;
- storage-drive inclusion and data-erasure status;
- lock, password, MDM, activation and finance status;
- included and excluded accessories;
- location, packing, dispatch terms and inspection rights; and
- photographs or a condition report where agreed.
6. Contract Priority and Disputes
The final purchase order or sales contract should identify the version of these Grading Guidelines, record all agreed deviations, and state the inspection, rejection, claim-notice and remedy procedure. Dubaibrokersite is not responsible for a Member's grading statement unless it expressly issued a separate signed inspection report covering that equipment.
